All Saints' Blackheath - LONDON (ENGLAND)

Descripción Anglican parish church in Blackheath. Designed by Benjamin Ferrey.
In 1854, Blackheath residents appealed for the building of their own church. Three years later in in 1857, construction of a parish church was agreed, which spanned from 1857 to 1858. It stands on its own on the edge of the Heath and makes no attempt to relate to nearby buildings because of its isolated location from them: It has Kentish rag surfaces and a spire on the south-west corner. Later, Vestries (1890) and a porch (1899) were both implemented by A W Blomfield. The church has a towering steeple, standing in an island on the south side of the heath to the north of Blackheath village. The bell tower, below the steeple, contains two bells used to chime the quarters and the hours
